Email automation that runs while you work
Welcome new subscribers, remind shoppers about their cart, thank first-time buyers and win back people who drifted away. Build each flow once on a visual canvas and it runs for everyone who qualifies.
Start with the trigger, then decide what happens next
Every flow starts with something a contact does or something that changes about them:
- Joins a list, for example your newsletter;
- Submits a form, any form or a specific one;
- Enters a segment, such as “ordered twice in 90 days”;
- Does something: an event from your store, your website or the API, like Placed order or Started checkout;
- A property changes, such as a plan or a loyalty tier;
- or you add people manually.
After the trigger, add the steps: send an email, wait, branch on a yes/no condition, split traffic at random to test two paths, add or remove tags and lists, update a property, send a webhook to another tool, or end the flow.
Flows worth setting up first
Most businesses get the biggest return from these four. Each one takes under an hour.
-
Welcome series
Two or three emails after someone subscribes: thank them, show what you are best at, invite a first purchase.
-
Abandoned checkout
With Shopify or WooCommerce connected, remind people who started a checkout and didn’t finish.
-
Post-purchase
Say thank you, explain how to get the most from what they bought, then ask for a review.
-
Win-back
For people who haven’t opened or bought in a while: a last friendly check-in before they go quiet for good.
-
Birthday or anniversary
Use a date property to send something kind on the day that matters to them.
-
Lead nurture
For services: a short course that answers the questions people ask before they buy.
Safe by design
Automation should never surprise your customers. Flows respect unsubscribes and suppressions at every email step, skip people who already received that email, and stop when a contact leaves the conditions you set.
Before a flow goes live, it is checked for missing emails, empty branches and steps that can never be reached. Every published version is kept, so you can see what changed and when. And each step shows how many people are waiting, passed through or exited, so you always know what the flow is doing.
Questions and answers
Can a contact go through the same flow twice?
You decide per flow: once ever, or again each time the trigger happens. For welcome flows, once is usually right; for “placed order” flows, every time.
What happens if I edit a live flow?
Your edits are kept as a draft until you publish them, so you can work on a flow without affecting the people in it. Each publish is saved as a new version, so you can see what changed and when.
Do I need a developer to use events?
No, if you use Shopify or WooCommerce: orders and checkouts arrive automatically. For other systems, a developer can send events through the API, or you can use Zapier or Make.
